Logan Brennan, men’s volleyball: Brennan, a fifth-year libero from Bragg Creek, Alta., was thrust into a starting left side role for the first time in his career after injuries to David Bommersbach and Taylor Howe earlier in the week. Brennan, who had never played left side in five seasons at U of W and whose only kill came in a substitute role in 2013, notched seven kills on 18 swings for a .278 efficiency in his debut Friday night, a 3-1 loss to the UBC Thunderbirds. Brennan finished the weekend with 11 kills and just three attack errors and a .250 efficiency. In Saturday’s three-set loss to the No. 3-ranked T-Birds, Brennan had a match-high 13 digs. In the process, he moved into the top-10 all-time in Canada West for digs with 718.
