Wesmen Coyote Cheerleading Team Coordinators

Arwen Smith grew up in Thompson, Manitoba where she was an artistic gymnast for 7 years. While the 2002-03 season was her first experience with cheerleading, she is known to be the "most spirited" on the team and has a great passion for cheering on the Wesmen teams from the sidelines and performing half time shows at the games. Arwen is a third year theatre major at the University of Winnipeg and hopes to one day move to California and pursue her dreams of becoming a movie star.

Amber Knight was originally from British Columbia, but moved to Winnipeg in 2002 to study human ecology. She has a strong background in rhythmic gymnastic as well as artistic gymnastics and dance. Along with sports, Amber also likes to design and sew her own clothes. Amber is looking forward to another great season with the Wesmen squad.

Patricia Tomczyk has a passion for cheerleading. She was a member of the 2002-03 Wesmen team and was also a part of the Nationals squad. She loves to stunt and perform. Along with cheerleading, Patricia has been involved with both rhythmic and artistic gymnastics as an athlete and a coach. As a third year education student majoring in physical activity and sports studies, she is looking forward to the 2003-04 season with all the new improvements to the team.

Lindsey Ritchie has been taking tap, jazz, and ballet since the age of three. Although she was an experienced dancer, the 2002-03 season was Lindsey’s first experience as a cheerleader. Lindsey’s first cheerleading experiences lead her to realize that she loved cheering on the Wesmen teams and performing at games. As a second year psychology major, Lindsey is very excited about the new and improved Wesmen team, and is eager to start the new season.
Shauna Jurczak has been dancing for 9 years and has a background in various styles of dance including hip-hop, ballet, and jazz. She was also a national level gymnast and a member of Manitoba’s Provincial Gymnastics Team for 6 years of her gymnastics career. At 21 years of age, she feels she has grown as a performer and is excited to be a part of the Wesmen team for a second year.
