"I Can Score" Spring Session Dates Announced

Women's Basketball Head Coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce that registration for the Spring session of the successful "I Can Score" Basketball Program is now open.

The spring session will begin on Sunday, May 14, 2017

The "I Can Score" program is designed to help players develop their one on one skills needed to take their games to the next level and create the ability to score in game situations.

The fundamentals of being a scorer whether in the paint or on the perimeter revolves around footwork, shooting form, reading the defense and creativity on the move while handling the ball. Wanting to be a scorer and being a scorer are two different things. Being a scorer takes work.

The "I Can Score" program that coach McKay has implemented is designed to develop the ability to put the ball in the hoop from every area of the court.

Sign up now...When everyone else is sleeping in on Sunday mornings, you will be at the gym getting to work.

Tanya's mentorship on and off the court was invaluable and now his career is moving from high school to university."

Program Details

  • Phase Two - January to March
  • Boys and Girls Grades 3-12
  • Homework Provided


Improve

  • Footwork - with and without the ball -
  • Finishing lay-ups (right and left)
  • Creative post moves
  • Learn to read the defence to score one on one from the perimeter
  • Improve shooting form and range
  • Gain confidence with the ball


Spring Session Dates: (2017)

  • May 14, 28
  • June 4, 11, 18, 25


Three sessions available:

1) Boys and Girls -  Grades 3-6  (10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)  $60.00
2) Boys - Grades - 7-12  (10:00 a.m.-  12:00 p.m.)  $120.00
3) Girl's – Grades 7-12  (11 am – 1 pm)  $120.00

All sessions will be held in the Axworthy Health and Recplex or the Duckworth Centre Gymnasium

Includes: sessions, homework, Wesmen season pass, 1 on 1 and 2 on 2 play during sessions
