The University of Winnipeg Wesmen Men's Baseball program is pleased to announce that
Jonathan Patmore (Pipestone, MB) has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen starting in the 2017-18 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) season.
Patmore a 6"2' multi-positional player (catcher, 3rd base and outfield) joins the Wesmen from Reston High School, where he was an honour roll student. He was also a member of the Oildome 18U AAA Club team that won the 2016 Provincial Championship.
Patmore has been a member of the Provincial Team program for the past three seasons, participating in the Western Canada Summer Games (2015), Team Manitoba Youth Selects (2016) and the upcoming 2017 Canada Summer Games taking place in Winnipeg this coming July.
He played on the 2016 Prairies team at T12, National Amateur Baseball Tournament that was held at Rogers Centre and run by the Toronto Blue Jays.
"Jon is a player we are really excited to add to our program as he has been successful both offensively and defensively. He is an elite level athlete who is very versatile on the field, capable of playing several different positions. I look forward to having Jonathan joining the Wesmen in the fall of 2017", said head coach Morgan dePena.
