Félixe Sturk-Lussier Latest Addition To Women's Volleyball Program

University of Winnipeg Wesmen Women's Volleyball head coach Diane Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Félixe Sturk- Lussier to the Women's Volleyball program for the start of the 2017-2018 Canada West season this September.

Sturk-Lussier a 5'8 all-round player was a four year team captain for the Collège Louis-Riel Voyageurs. She is a two-time AAA Provincial High School Provincial champion winning gold in 2014 and 2016. In 2014 she was named the Tournament MVP and in 2016 was named a tournament All-Star. This past season she was nominated for a Manitoba Volleyball Association Graduating All-Star.

"We are extremely pleased to have Félixe join our program. She brings much experience, success, positive attitude, a solid work effort and exceptional athleticism. We see Félixe being able to support and motivate a competitive spirit in our team on court, while balancing a true human spirit off court. Félixe Sturk-Lussier just made us better in so many ways. I am very excited to have the privilege to coach her", said Wesmen Women's Volleyball head coach Diane Scott.

An experienced club player, she played for the Vision Volleyball Club team in 2013 before playing the last four years as a member of the Junior Bisons Volleyball Club. She has won four medals at the Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Championships (gold - 2016 and 2017, silver – 2013 and bronze in 2015). Sturk-Lussier also played for Team Manitoba in the summer of 2015.

A dedicated student-athlete, she has maintained an average above 90% throughout high school. Sturk-Lussier's University degree interests are in the fields of Political Science, International Development Studies or Human Rights (with the intention of obtaining a Law Degree in the future).

Away from the court she has volunteered on the Collège Louis Riel's free lunch committee and at the Flavi-Laurent Centre here in Winnipeg. She has musical interests also playing the drums, piano and ukulele.
