11 am Women - Wesmen defeated Manitoba 3-1 (25-19, 26-24, 22-25, 25-18)
3:30 pm Women - Semi - Final - Toronto defeated Manitoba 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23)
7:30 pm Women - Wesmen Semi - Final - Wesmen defeated Ottawa 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-15)
6:00 pm Men - Wesmen defeated River City All-Stars 3-2 (25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25,15-10)

Sunday,October 3st
11 am Women - Gold Medal Match - Wesmen defeated Toronto 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-14)
The Wesmen Women’s volleyball team completed a great weekend by winning the gold medal in the BOB FM Volleyball Challenge. The Wesmen only lost two games all tournament as they dominated every match they played in. The Wesmen were a determined and focused team in the gold medal match as they came out in the first set and dominated the Varsity Blues by a score of 25-14 to capture the first set. In set number two the Varsity Blues came out strong and built a 6-1 lead over the Wesmen. As they have done all tournament the Wesmen would not let up as they received key offensive plays by tournament all-star Andrea Charbonneau and Aynsley Laluk. The Wesmen won the second set 25-22 and led the match two games to none. In set number three the Wesmen were hungry for gold and it showed as they played strong defense to keep the Varsity Blues off balance. Kristin Brisebois, Charbonneau and Nicola Dirks all had timely blocks in the set which led to several points and a 25-14 third set win and a gold medal match victory. The winner of the Nikki Redekop trophy as tournament MVP was fifth year Wesmen player Aynsley Laluk. Wesmen players Andrea Charbonneau and Kristin Brisebois were named to the tournament all-star team.
