The University of Winnipeg men's basketball team suffered a setback on the road Saturday, dropping a 75-61 decision to the North Dakota School of Science Wildcats in Wahpeton, N.D.

The Wesmen brought just nine players on the trip, their only non-conference game of the holiday season.

Freshman guard Don Dayrit led the Wesmen with 15 points. Fifth-year forward Nathanial Johnson added 13 and redshirt freshman Francesco Tocci added 11.

"I thought the guys did a good job of playing through fatigue and the rust of having some time since our last game," Wesmen head coach Mike Raimbault said. "Hopefully it helps us get back into the swing of things next week."
The Wesmen will resume Canada West conference play with a home-and-home series with the Brandon Bobcats that starts Jan. 5 in Brandon and ends Jan. 6 in Winnipeg.
