JAMESTOWN, N.D. — It wasn't always pretty, but the Winnipeg Wesmen found a way to win again on the road.
Narcisse Ambanza had 19 points and seven rebounds Saturday as the Wesmen men's basketball team defeated the Valley City State Vikings 73-66 in a non-conference game at the University of Jamestown.
Ambanza was 3-for-6 from three and 7-for-15 from the field to pace the Wesmen, who have played all four of their non-conference games this season away from home and have three wins to show for it.
The Wesmen will return home next weekend for the Lea-Marc Printing Tournament.
Winnipeg held the NAIA Vikings to 3-for-11 shooting from three and 45.3 per cent from the field. The Wesmen went 47.3 per cent from the field and 6 of 18 from three.
The Wesmen overcame a modest 35-32 deficit at half time and used a 14-1 run over the first 6:07 of the second half to turn the tables.
Logan Nelson had 15 points to lead VCSU.
