"We are excited to have our first years officially announced today. A lot of these players really are team first type players and bring that mentality and enthusiasm with them. At the UofW we really encourage a sense of togetherness and focus on the team always. We are looking forward to seeing our first years play and most of all supporting them through this big first year for them. We are very grateful each and every one of them has chosen to play at UoW", said Anderson.

Calvez in her third season of eligibility was a  starter in all 14 conference games for the Wesmen in 2016. She led the team in goal scoring (4) while registering 22 shots on goal.

"We are very pleased to announce Jam as captain this year.  To have a  player as determined,  conscientious and loyal as Jam is very unique and I am very grateful.  I think the team will benefit greatly from Jam's presence on the field and off ", added Anderson

"It is definitely an honour to be named team captain. This team is special in the way that we support each other 100% on and off the field. Amy has done a great job bringing in a talented recruiting class this year. Our first year players already fit in so well with senior players and we are like a family. We have been working hard all year and can't wait to start our season" said Calvez.
