GENERAL WESMEN NEWS
The annual Wesmen Men’s Varsity Invitational Volleyball Tournament took place this past weekend at the Duckworth Centre. The tournament was a great success as 18 high school teams from across Winnipeg and two teams from Saskatchewan participated in the two-day-event. The team from College Jeanne Sauve were the gold medal winners of the event as they defeated the team from Dakota in two close games(15-11,15-11). The squad from MBCI took home the bronze medal. The MVP of the two-day tournament was Dan Lother from College Jeanne Sauve.
This past Wednesday evening our Wesmen Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams took part in the annual potluck and intra squad games. The event was a great success as the teams were able to show off their skills to the parents, and boosters in attendance. Thanks to everyone who brought food along and made this event a fun evening.
On Friday the University held the Annual Rock Climb event. The event featured teams from the University as they attempt to scale down the huge boulder on campus. Congratulations to our very own Men’s Volleyball team as they placed third in the event, just one second off the winning time.
This weekend the Wesmen High School Boys Rural Invitational volleyball tournament will take place at the Duckworth Centre.

The team has been set and Coach McKay has been putting the squad through some intense but productive practices as they get ready for the season opening match in a few weeks. MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Coach Larry McKay, the head coach of the Wesmen Men’s volleyball team has some tough choices to make. The coach has 18 players in camp at the moment looking for a spot on the 2004/2005 team. The team played very well in their annual intra-squad game last week, which makes Coach McKay’s decision that much more tougher.
